I have been into street rods since the early seventies. I have had a number of rods. My first was a 36 Ford 5 window which I had when I originaly joined. I took it to the regionals in NY and everywhere else. I remember one trip when we had the swap meet at Superior Spring. It rained heavy that year and when I left the meet in the afternoon every puddle resulted in water coming right up to the dash board as the car was not finished and the wood floor just did not cut it.It drove the purists crazy to see that we had our cars out in the rain.
I also had a 4 door slammer chevy( Empty Barrels old car) and currently my pink 32 Ford Roadster. I ordered the wrong paint but after seeing it I decided it was a keeper.
I will probably continue to do this to the end. It gets in the blood. I frankly don't care what box the new generation is driving however I feel we will have to try and reach out to these kids if our hobby as we know it will be carried on.
